OUR VALUES

At ALKEMI, our work is first and foremost a commitment to our integrity. Being in INTEGRITY rests in embodying and communicating morals and values and being open and flexible to shift in the presence of new information with an awareness to influence. It requires consistency between our beliefs and behavior; our behaviors and our word.

In order to be in our integrity, we commit to radical SELF-REFLEXIVITY which is the awareness of how we exist in an ecosystem, how our existence relates to others, and from where our patterns, behaviors and triggers stem.

Furthermore, we adhere to a sense of BIOMIMICRY, where we acknowledge and honor that we are products of a complex, evolved, and refined ecosystem that has been iterating for millenia. We believe that solutions to our challenges are exemplified in the natural world and concede that our creative cognition is not the ultimate problem solver.

In acknowledging the power of nature, we commit to a RE-GENERATIVE process to build cultures, ethics and values that are sustainable and reproducible. Our resource is us, so we need to ensure that we can continue to create and are not depleted or damaged. We also commit to ensuring that whatever work we are doing, and the organizations that we are working with, can sustain themselves and not be depleted.

The humility in acknowledging the power of nature however, is mirrored by our devotion to being INNOVATIVE. To us, innovation involves recreating, reimagining, and renewing the cultural and social conditions, systems, and structures that will influence the trajectory of transformation. It means relinquishing previously held ideals, old patterns and systems of operating. We see embracing mistakes as the means of demarking opportunities.

Innovation to us is predicated on a SYNERGISTIC mode of operating where we believe that when we work together, we become stronger. We humbly acknowledge each individual’s strengths as unique and sovereign to their own being.

Finally, in doing so, we are grounded in a deep understanding of INTERSECTIONALITY where every individual stands at a particular place based on where they came from and what they’ve experienced up until that moment. Some avenues in this intersection have a deeper impact on the individual's privileges & disadvantages. In acknowledging this, we understand intersectionality to be the place where our Self interacts with folks that stand at other intersections.

With Love,

The ALKEMI Team
